GRÜNER VELTLINER
RIED PANZAUN
KAMPTAL
Our oldest vines grow in the deep loess soils in the Panzaun vineyard. In return for our tender loving care, the grapes produce an intense, complex Grüner Veltliner, with fruity flavours alongside typical pepper notes. The vines are so old that they make this beautifully rounded wine taste stronger than it actually is. It takes on its appealing personality during long ageing on fine lees.
The mainly flat tracts that make up the Ried Panzaun vineyards are around 220 to 290 metres above sea level, on a high plateau south of Langenlois. The pure loess soil exhibits a balanced mineral composition, while a mix of clay and sand provides a plentiful supply of nutrients: ideal for producing a classic Grüner Veltliner.
