BLAUER ZWEIGELT
Our Zweigelt is brimming with sumptuous, dark red stone fruit aromas, with cherry and plum in the nose. We decided not to mature the wine in barrique barrels, and chose large oak barrels instead, with an eye on preserving this palette of flavours. The result ticks all of the boxes for a classic Zweigelt. Grown in different vineyards, the grapes bring their own personalities to the table, thanks to the differing soils and climates in each location. Deciding how long to ferment the wine on the mash and how much time we need to give our Zweigelt before the acidity levels are reduced biologically is a matter of instinct. It all depends on the vintage, too. Our take produces a rounded wine that is a real pleasure to drink.
